Sonia Mittal is a Clinical Lecturer in Law and Associate Research Scholar at Yale Law School. She previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney and the Senior Counsel to the Capitol Siege Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, the section of the Department of Justice responsible for handling the prosecutions of approximately 1,600 individuals at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. Sonia’s academic work in law and political science concerns questions of constitutional failure here and abroad.
